Scottish PR…my update
In June I wrote a post ‘Scotland is behind in public relations modernisation‘ and one of my points was about talking and action. I want to take a minute to update you on what I’m doing to help ‘move things along’.
1. Solo PR – pinot/pint and PR
Taking the research the CIPR conducted into independent practitioners, a new #solopr community is being launched and our first event is on 10 September. CIPR Scotland has kindly said it would sponsor!
On the same evening, Paul Wilkinson (@EEPaul) is coordinating an event in London and I believe there is another event being held in Northern Ireland, too! Now to think about how we can all hook in for a ‘hi ya’!

2. PR Festival
The first in Scotland and possibly the UK, I’m organising a PR Festival, which will take place in Edinburgh ahead of the Edinburgh International Festival next year. The festival aims to have a non-traditional approach to learning and sharing. Full details will be announced in November.
If you want to get involved or want to discuss either activity, please get in touch!
