I’m Mandy and I’m the new Intern here at Aura. I started my placement two weeks ago and when I was brainstorming what my first blog post should be about, I realised how important video content has become in the marketing mix and how big a part it plays in what we deliver for clients. So, I decided to do a bit of research into communicating and engaging via video and find out where the demand for video content in marketing came from and where it’s going.
Video content is a huge part of social media and is easily integrated into other parts of your PR strategy. More than ever, consumers are choosing visual engagement over reading screeds of text. A video for your business is an easy and effective way to demonstrate your brand’s personality. You can convey your core values and mission however you want knowing that they will be delivered just how you want them to be.
Just to bore you with a few stats (courtesy of digitalsherpa.com), videos increase understanding of your product or service by 74%, a third of all online time is spent watching video and YouTube is the number two search engine in the world. The number of online video consumers is expected to double to 1.5 billion, yes billion, by 2016 with total online consumption predicted to quadruple (Cisco).
So as you can see, video really is the way forward in terms of producing a clear message to your consumers and ensuring optimum engagement. I’m very happy to be an Intern at a company which is constantly evolving with the trends and responding to the growing demand for video content.
